- 1949 : the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) creates for the first time a department for radioprotection in uranium mines.
- 1985 : this department becomes the Mine Centre for RadioProtection (CRPM) within COGEMA (now AREVA)
- 1993 : ALGADE is established, bringing together the mine radioprotection teams of the French Atomic Energy Commission, boasting nearly 50 years experience in the field of radon measurement and monitoring of all hazards caused by natural radioactivity.
- 2001 : ALGADE becomes part of the CARSO group, leader in France in analytical services for the quality of the environment.
